MOMS DEMAND ACTION

On Monday, August 9, 2011, our Chapter sister, Tiffany Gonzalez, lost her cousin, Wilmer Hernandez, due to gun violence. Wilmer died at the age of 20 defending his younger brother from a robbery in the streets of New York City.

Every day, we are losing more innocent lives due to gun violence. As strong and independent women wanting to make a difference in our society, we understand the need for a better gun sense in our country. Therefore, we have decided to support Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America.

Moms Demand Action was created to demand action from legislators, state, and federal; companies; and educational institutions to establish common-sense gun reforms. Moms Demand Action is not asking for the ban on guns but for common-sense solutions to the increasing epidemic of gun violence in America.

Alpha Chapter supports the moms who are fighting for their children by demanding gun sense and raising gun violence awareness. On behalf of our chapter sister who lost a loved one due to gun violence, we stand up with the moms and also say, “IT’S TIME FOR GUN SENSE!”
